About us
The Chair of Biochemistry and Chemistry conducts experimental research projects in the field of (glyco-)biochemistry and glycobiology. This doctoral position focuses on lectin interactions with (glyco-)ligands of zoonotic pathogens. Using biochemical and multi-omics techniques, novel lectin ligands are to be identified and characterised. Recombinant production and engineering of relevant ligands will be carried out. The aim is to modulate immune cell function through targeted lectin intervention. Lectin functions in physiological processes as well as in the context of infection and inflammation will be investigated using suitable models.
