The Faculty of Science, Institute of Computer Science, at the University of Potsdam in- vites applications for the following position to be filled as soon as possible:
Full Professorship (W 3) for Computer Science
We are looking for an outstanding researcher who will represent an area of computer science in research and teaching that meaningfully complements the existing expertise at the institute. Applicants should have an internationally recognized record of excellence in their researc h area. The professorship is intended to be foundational in nature and to cover a broad range of areas in computer science. Possible research areas include, but are not limited to, artificial intelligence and machine learn- ing, human-computer interaction and socio-technical systems. Applications from excellent re- searchers in other foundational areas of computer science are equally welcome. The success- ful candidate is expected to engage with current interdisciplinary focus areas in data and cog- nitive sciences. We look forward to a colleague who actively engages with the Institute of Com- puter Science, embraces collaboration with neighboring institutes within the Faculty of Sci- ence, and contributes to the vibrant research network of institutions and universities in the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region – including participation in large-scale externally funded pro- jects and coordinated programs.
The successful candidate will contribute to teaching in the bachelor’s and master’s programs in computer science/computational science, data science and cognitive systems, and is ex- pected to participate in academic self-governance. German language skills are not initially re- quired.
