VOLUNTEERS - United Nations Youth Office
Anchored in the UN Youth Compass, a flagship initiative of the United Nations Youth Office, the first of it’s kind UN Youth Townhall will be convened from 8 to 10 December in Heidelberg, Germany, bringing together 1,000 participants, including young people and decision-makers to exchange perspectives, identify shared priorities and co-create solutions for the future. The Heidelberg University of Education (HUoE) is supporting the event, which is taking place under the patronage of the City of Heidelberg. Discussions during the Townhall will focus on strengthening meaningful youth participation across the three UN pillars: sustainable development, peace and security, and human rights. Within these pillars, sessions will explore cross-cutting issues such as education and future-ready skills, AI and technology, mental health and well-being, and economic opportunities. To ensure the event runs smoothly, the UN Youth Townhall will require the assistance of volunteers to help create a welcoming, inclusive, accessible, and safe environment for participants. With our current cooperation, HUoE is supporting the UN Youth Office among other things with recruiting volunteers for this event and therefore will be sending students of HUoE on behalf of our institution to support the UN Youth Townhall.
