The Transregio Collaborative Research Center SFB-TRR 358 “Integral Structures in Geometry and Representation Theory” has the following positions available:

At the start of its second funding period, TRR 358 is announcing five postdoctoral positions. The positions are to be filled in Bielefeld and Paderborn. Detailed descriptions of the available research projects can be found on the TRR website: https://trr358.math.uni-bielefeld.de/JobOpenings .

The positions will be filled subject to project approval.

Your Tasks

• Research tasks in a subproject of the Transregio Collaborative Research Center SFB-TRR 358 “Integral Structures in Geometry and Representation Theory” (100 %)

Employment is conducive to scientific qualification and provides the opportunity for further academic development.

• salary according to Remuneration level 13 TV-L
• fixed-term (2 or 3 years) (§ 2 (1) sentence 2 of the WissZeitVG; in accordance with the provisions of the WissZeitVG and the Agreement on Satisfactory Conditions of Employment, the length of contract may differ in individual cases)

Your Profile

We expect

• completed scientific academic degree (e. g., master’s degree or equivalent) in mathematics
• completed or nearly completed relevant doctoral degree
• ability to work independently, take initiative, and demonstrate a high level of commitment
• very good written and spoken English skills
• collaborative work style and strong communication skills

Preferred experience and skills

• research experience in one or more mathematical fields relevant to the Collaborative Research Center, such as algebra, combinatorics, arithmetic or algebraic geometry, or geometric group theory.
