Students wanted for paid translation work – e-QuoL project

At the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine, we are currently working on the e-QuoL project, in which we are developing informational content for support network members (e.g., family members, friends, and other loved ones) of survivors of cancer in childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood.

To make this information accessible across Europe, we are translating the content into 15 different languages. For most languages, translations can be supported by members of our project team. However, we are still looking for students who speak one of the following languages:

• Catalan
• Danish
• Finnish
• Swedish
• Norwegian
• Slovenian
• Hungarian

The work would involve translating approximately 15 short text drafts (each a few pages long), and potentially a small number of additional brochures, from English into one of the languages listed above. A preliminary AI-generated translation will be provided as a starting point.

We are looking for students who:

• are native speakers or have an excellent command of one of the languages listed above;
• have a very good understanding of English;
• are able to produce clear and natural written language;
• have Swiss or EU/EFTA citizenship, or hold a valid Swiss work/residence permit; and
• have availability to work on the translations starting in autumn 2026 and finishing no later than February 2027.

The work would be paid on an hourly basis (CHF 25 per hour). We expect the translation work to require approximately 20-30 hours in total for the 15 drafts.
