Full Professor in Training Science with Biological Focus
The position:
We are seeking an outstanding researcher with a clearly defined research profile and a proven track record in internationally recognized research. The successful candidate’s research should focus on the scientific foundations and further development of training, exercise performance, performance diagnostics, and competition, as well as their evidence-based application in various areas of sport.
A strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration with related disciplines in the field of sport and exercise sciences at the Centre, as well as with relevant institutes, faculties, and centres throughout the university, is expected. Experience in collaborating with external, non-university partners and a successful track record in competitive third-party funding acquisition are required.
The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic and internationally oriented research environment. As Austria’s largest research institution in the field of sports and human movement science, the Centre offers excellent conditions for innovative and independent research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and active involvement in national and international scientific networks.
Your academic profile:
- Doctoral degree/PhD
- Outstanding research achievements, excellent publication and funding record, international reputation
- Experience in designing and managing large research projects
- Excellent teaching and supervision skills at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral level
- Proven leadership qualities
- Gender and diversity competence
- Willingness to take on organisational and administrative responsibilities within the Faculty/Centre and/or the University
The University of Vienna expects the successful candidate to acquire, within three years, proficiency in German sufficient for teaching in bachelor’s programmes and for participation in university committees.
