What you'll be doing here
- Helping establish a soil monitoring scheme to harmonize monitoring activities at European scale
- Setting up equipment at the Swiss monitoring site and collecting wind, water erosion and tillage erosion data
- Collecting information from the local stakeholders based on surveys and workshops to support the measurements
- Analysing the Swiss data and modelling soil erosion at catchment scale
- Collecting data from all European monitoring sites, controlling quality, analysing statistics and writing publications
- Using standardized methods to ensure up-to-date and accurate data matching modelers' needs and validating the selected indicators
What you'll bring with you
- A university degree (master's or PhD) in agronomy or a related subject
- Very good knowledge of agricultural science and soil science
- Experience in monitoring and modelling soil erosion, data analysis and programming languages (e.g. R, Python)
- High level of motivation, ability to work independently, resilience and strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Native speaker of German or French with a good knowledge of the other language; very good command of English
